Critical Requirements
🇦🇺 Moving to Australia
1️⃣ Microchip (FIRST)
ISO 11784/11785 chip. Must be done before rabies vaccine.
2️⃣ Rabies Vaccination
At least 30 days BEFORE departure. Show neutralising antibody titer ≥0.5 IU/ml.
3️⃣ Import Permit
From Australian Dept of Agriculture. Apply 6+ months ahead. Takes 4–8 weeks.
4️⃣ Mandatory Quarantine
Minimum 10 days at Melbourne Mickleham facility. You cannot visit during quarantine.
5️⃣ Official Health Certificate
Issued by government vet within 5 days of departure.

🇮🇪 Moving to Ireland
1️⃣ Microchip (ISO Standard)
15-digit ISO 11784/11785 chip before rabies vaccine.
2️⃣ Rabies Vaccination
Valid rabies vaccine. Wait 21 days after vaccination before travel.
3️⃣ EU Pet Passport / Health Certificate
If from Australia (non-EU), need official vet health certificate.
4️⃣ Tapeworm Treatment (Dogs only)
1–5 days before entry. Certified by vet on health certificate.
5️⃣ NO Quarantine Required ✅
If all requirements met, pet can come home with you immediately!
